What is CentricStats?

How does it work?

Unlike JavaScript analytic tools (Google Analytics, Woopra, Omniture, etc), CentricStats runs as a serverside script at the bottom on your pages. It doesn't affect the performance of the page in anyway. When a visitor comes to a page, we immediately lookup their location, identify their browser, and capture where they came from. We then record what pages they are clicking on and how often. You can then view the information in real-time within CentricManager.

CentricStats vs. Google Analytics

While Google Analytics is great at displaying your website traffic with nice pie charts and bar graphs, it's hard to see the details. Google Analytics will tell you that people have been coming from a particular site (referral), but it doesn't tell you the exact link they clicked on. You might know somebody came from a Google search, but do you know the exact keyword and ranking of your site?

Google Analytics is also delayed up to 24-hours in displaying your traffic information. Yesterday's traffic is great, but what about real-time!?

If your site is like the majority of the websites out there, a lot of your traffic isn't just people, but robots/web crawlers like Google. Tools like Google Analytics, Woopra, and Omniture run in JavaScript, which robots/web crawlers cannot process. People can also turn JavaScript off, meaning those tools have no record of a visit. Do you know when Google/Yahoo/Bing last crawled your site? Do you know what pages they crawled? Do you know how often they come back?

We take the guess work out of what you're missing! Think of CentricStats not as Google Analytics replacement, but it's side kick. CentricStats provides up-to-the-minute information on your visitors. Everything from their location (city/state/country), ISP, operating system, web browser, the pages they visit, when they visited, and much more are displayed in an easy to follow timeline.
