We were really excited when we heard this project was on the horizon. Ocala.com is the community portal/newspaper website for the Ocala Star-Banner in Ocala, Florida. We were assigned to create a dynamic site combining the current newspaper and community websites, while also improving the look, performance, and accessibility of the final product, relative to the two source sites. Without the proper team in place, we volunteered to lead the development and help with the planning, design, and roll-out of this site. Ocala.com now recieves an average of 20,000 users per day, a testament to the overwhelming success of the planning and implementation process. 
 
In addition to helping with the site's graphical design, we participated in converting the interface from Photoshop to HTML and writing the majority of the Publicus coding required for the site's back end. We also worked on the Classifieds search engine interface, PIP ads (dynamic banner ads), and keeping all the third-party vendors on track. This project was both fun and exhausting at the same time. Finally, like most websites, it is still a work in progress.
